single bet calculator
OK — have been messing about with this thing for something like four months now and it’s basically bookmarked at this point, so thought I’d say something since someone asked me last week. Am UK based, mainly bet football and racing, a fiver here and there, so take it how you like.
How I found it was actually a bit daft — I couldn’t ever get my head round what an e/w return actually was with 1/5 odds a place. I used to just guess and get a shock. Now I type the odds in first, every time, even a straight one-selection punt.
The single bet calculator is the one I’m on daily — type in your stake, the odds and it shows profit and total return with no faffing, fractional or decimal, doesn’t matter. There’s also the fiddly ones — doubles and trebles maths, a lucky 15, patents and yankees, which is where I’d always got it wrong. If you fancy a poke about, it’s here union jack patent calculator and there’s no login wall, which I appreciated.
One thing that genuinely shifted things for me is the geekier bits. There’s an probability thing which shows you the overround, and a kelly criterion calculator — I stick to fractional kelly because full kelly is far too aggressive. The dutching one is handy too for when I’m splitting a race.
Not all sunshine though. Its design looks very functional, let’s say — not much polish, it’s clearly function over form. Phone-wise it’s fine although the bigger tables need a bit of scrolling. And no app, it’s browser only — fine by me but you asked.
So yeah. Doesn’t cost anything, barely any ads, works. Anyone who honestly adds it up in their head, give it a go — saved me a fair few dumb bets I’d have regretted.
